Mr. Lebo began his journey in architecture when he first visited the construction site of a new house at the age of thirteen. His first architectural design was the production of construction drawings for a small food mart in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Upon his graduation from high school, he worked for the City Planning Commission during the summer of 1972 as a draftsperson assisting in the development of the overall city zoning maps. He then enlisted into the United States Air Force as a communication equipment repairman for the next six years before being honorable discharged in 1978. Immediately upon graduating with a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Virginia in 1985, Mr. Lebo joined his first architectural firm and preformed the daily operations for the company as well as managing the production room activities in overseeing various types of projects. At his subsequent firms, he refined his expertise in government and civilian design and construction for both complex renovation and new facility projects.
Mr. Lebo has a wide-range of qualifications in both the design and construction phases of project management. He has extensive experience in design planning, drafting, specifications, cost estimates, building code research, report writing, and quality control assurance. His knowledge in the construction administration field includes bidding evaluation and procedures, contractor selection and procurement, construction shop drawing review and coordination, progress meetings and inspections, payment application process, and final construction closeout documentation.
Additional experience complied during his career involve site survey/field investigation, consultant engineering coordination, use of computer aided drafting/design software, LEED coordination, sustainable design, request for proposal development/responses, management of design bid-built and design-built projects, and multi-family housing project.
Lebo Architecture began its journey in 2012 with the commission of a daycare center renovation in Norfolk, Virginia.
